MSC Update - February 2024
Happy February! It’s a bit crazy to think that the class of 2024 Match season is almost over, and the class of 2025 will be preparing for audition rotations very soon. I highly recommend third year medical students attend CONNECT, as we will be hosting a program director panel and “speed dating” with the Texas residency programs. It is a great networking opportunity, and a way to get all your burning questions about the Match answered. I would also encourage medical students to apply for the various leadership positions within TCEP. Applications are live for both the Medical Student Committee and the Board of Directors. The positions open on the MSC are Chair, Secretary-Editor, Advocacy Coordinator, Project Coordinator, and Social Media Coordinator. Applications are due February 27. There is also an opportunity to sit on the TCEP Board of Directors as a medical student liaison, and the application process is separate for that position. Applications will remain open until March 10, and voting for the Board of Directors occurs during CONNECT – another reason to attend the conference if you run for BoD! It has been a highlight of my medical school experience serving on the MSC for the past 2 years and would encourage anyone to take a chance to apply!
