
TCEP Medical Student Committee (MSC) Leadership Positions
Applications are being accepted from January 27 to February 22, 2026 for the following positions:
- Chair (MS3 or MS4)
- Secretary-Editor
- Advocacy Coordinator
- Project Coordinator
- Social Media Coordinator

OFFICERS
Chair (available to MS3 or MS4)
- Manage and synchronize MSC activities while representing the student perspective within the organization.
- Facilitate meetings with MSC and EMIG leaders at the state level.
- Engage in TCEP Board of Director meetings and conference calls as needed.
- Attend TCEP CONNECT conference in Spring 2026 and contribute to the planning of the Medical Student track (some costs to attend may be reimbursed).
- Collaborate with the Medical Student Representative to advocate for medical student concerns at TCEP Board of Directors meetings.
- Supervise the implementation of new projects and objectives for the MSC.
- Attend “Meet the Program” nights with Texas EM residency programs and the TCEP MSC Annual Colloquium.
Secretary/Editor
- Assist MSC Chair in their duties, including but not limited to MSC conference calls (EMIG updates section of calls).
- Implementation and management of new EMIGS
- Attend TCEP CONNECT conference in Spring 2026 (some costs to attend may be reimbursed).
- Oversee the implementation and management of new EMIGs in Texas.
- Act as editor-in-chief of the medical student portion for EMphasis. This includes, but is not limited to, organization and oversight of the medical student section for the journal.
- Record and disseminate minutes from MSC meetings and conference calls.
- Manage the TCEP MSC listserv.
- Provide educational resources to Texas medical students interested in emergency medicine.
- Craft and distribute bi-monthly updates for TCEP MSC members and TCEP associated EM interest groups (EMIGs).
- Collaborate with the MSC Social Media Coordinator on social media efforts.
Chair Emeritus (automatic appointment)
- Provide advice and support to the MSC Chair.
- Work with TCEP Executive Director to ensure MSC pages on TCEP website are current and up to date.
AT LARGE MEMBERS
Advocacy Coordinator
- Supervise the Legislative Committee, consisting of primary TCEP liaisons and representatives from each school, to stay informed on current events/developments in Emergency Medicine policy.
- Collaborate on additional assignments and support the MSC Chair with various tasks as needed.
Project Coordinator
- Serves as the TCEP Representative to both the Two-Step Board of Directors and Lone Star Survival Board of Directors.
- Supervise the initiation of new MSC projects throughout Texas as deemed appropriate.
- Examples include organizing the virtual TCEP Colloquium, which encompasses diverse topics and sessions involving students, residents, and faculty members.
- Compile and share resources for students in simulation.
Social Media Coordinator
- Oversee the MSC presence on social media, including Twitter, Instagram, and Facebook.
- Manage and update all TCEP MSC social media accounts, curating and posting content regularly, with a minimum goal of bi-monthly posts.
- Maintain high social media activity during TCEP and TCEP MSC events.
- In the absence of the coordinator, ensure a representative is available to manage social media or actively monitor and share content from these events.
- Design and produce distinctive posters and flyers for TCEP MSC events.
- Collaborate with the MSC Secretary-Editor in coordinating social media efforts.

- Current curriculum vitae (CV); and,
- Current headshot; and,
- Letter of Intent.
MSC Leadership Requirements:
- Active member of TCEP/ACEP (throughout term),
- Currently enrolled in a Texas medical school.
