MSC Update

June 2026

My name is James Bradbury. I'm a third-year medical student at Baylor College of Medicine with a strong interest in EM and wilderness medicine. This year, I have the privilege of serving as your Editor for the TCEP Medical Student newsletter. 

Over this next year together, you can expect:

  • Information on conferences, leadership positions, and ways to get involved
  • Resources and opportunities to help students explore and pursue a career in Emergency Medicine
  • More information about EM subspecialities such as Wilderness Medicine, Global EM, EMS, and more
  • Highlights of the incredible work being done by EM-bound students throughout Texas (you!)

One initiative I am particularly excited about is the return of our Meet the Residency Series.

Beginning in late July, we will be sitting down with Emergency Medicine residency programs across Texas for a series of interviews and live Q&A sessions. These conversations will give students the opportunity to hear directly from program leadership, residents, and faculty about training, culture, educational opportunities, life outside the hospital, and what makes each program unique. 

Whether you are a first-year student just beginning to explore Emergency Medicine or a fourth-year preparing for residency applications, this series will provide a valuable opportunity to learn more about the programs training Texas emergency physicians and what life looks like in residency.
