President's MessageOctober 2025
Colleagues, I wanted to write this month about the importance of EMPACT to all of our members and all of our patients. While our website does a great job of detailing the priority: giving Emergency Physicians a united voice in the political process. This bi-partisan engagement to improve emergency care across the state is essential to maintaining our ability to both care for our patients and protect them. There is a great deal of responsible, thoughtful and thorough discourse regarding how to disperse the precious funds donated. If we don’t proactively support the legislative process, our practices and our patients will suffer. Forging meaningful relationship with policymakers involves both the commodities of time and funding. While we have a lot of generous supporters, we would multiply our influence ten-fold if every TCEP members gave just $100 to EMPACT for the year. Both your EMPACT and your TCEP Board Members are available to discuss how our processes work and how our priorities are formed. It is essential that EMPACT have a viable opportunity to continue our work, both challenging laws and policies that harm our patients but even more importantly proactively supporting Legislators and legislation that serves emergency patients. Please consider making a donation today! Warm regards, AJ Kirk, MD, FACEP |
